The Chinese dress known as Hanfu (also known as guzhuang meaning “old clothes”) was the traditional clothing of Han Chinese folk. Hanfu the term has its organ in the Book of Han, who says, “then came to pay homage to the court and were impressed by the dress style of the Han [Chinese].” It is fascinating to visitors, the traditional dress – a kimono and sandals made of rice reeds. Since the material of this ancient Chinese clothing was always silk, supposedly discovered by the wife of the Yellow Emperor was the Leizu Hanfu as “silks”.

The Hanfu is now only on special occasions, which carried mostly historical reenactment, hobby, as adults / rite of passage ceremonies, ceremonial clothing worn by religious priests, or cultural movement. It would be totally different from the traditional dress of other ethnic groups in China, like the Manchurian qipao. There is a big difference between the way people dress and Han influence in Manchuria. It is still an unsolved problem that the two would be the correct costume of ancient China. Some costumes generally regarded as typically Chinese, such as qipao, are the result of influence by brutal laws (Queue Order) imposed by Manchurian rulers of the Qing dynasty, and not by supporters that “traditionally” considered Han .
